Work life update

I am excited to announce that I’ll be serving through AmeriCorps VISTA as a Development Consultant with Food Recovery Network beginning at the end of August. I am proud and honored to be working with the national headquarters of an organization I volunteered with all four years of college.

Fun fact: I took a class in college called “Writing for Nonprofits” in which we had to write a sample grant proposal for an organization of our choice. And guess who I selected? Food Recovery Network! It definitely feels like I’ve come full circle, and I can’t wait to begin this next year of service!

News21 is well on its way!

We’re in our third week here in the News21 newsroom. After our spring semester-long crash course in all things marijuana, our summertime reporting is off to a strong start. News21 fellows are traveling across the country for in-depth, investigative coverage of the marijuana legalization movement. When we’re not on the road, the place we call home is Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

I’m interested in journalism and communications, and I am particularly passionate about social change and innovation. I would love to translate my skills into working for a nonprofit or NGO.
